ABSTRACT
This is the story of six-year-old Toma, who paints herself a friend on the wall and calls him Wolfchek. The painting turns out all scribbly, Toma’s parents are less than thrilled, and Toma’s mean elder brother even convinces her that she doesn’t know how to paint. The next day Wolfchek runs away, and Toma chases him all over in an effort to fix him.
As the story develops, the family members start feeling differently about Wolfchek, while little Toma learns important life lessons.
RELEVANCY
Nowadays the matters of psychology, tolerance, and mental health are steadily gaining popularity.
This book fits this trend perfectly, but without exploiting some tedious edifying parable; rather, it speaks to readers through a vibrant allegory.
